NEW Red Cross standards require all participants attending classroom training to  have their own pocket resuscitation mask with single-use one-way valve. If you do not have your own pocket resuscitation mask, you can purchase one at the time of your in person class.

Cost to renew cpr certification? How do I renew my CPR certification in Ontario? Those with a Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C certificate can renew it by enrolling in a recertification course before its expiration date. This is a one-day renewal course, and the certificate will indicate that you have been recertified in Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C.

Physical Requirements for all courses.

For successful completion of all courses, you will need to perform the following physical activities
  • kneeling while compressing a mannequin for up to 2 minutes
  • moving from standing, to sitting, to laying position
  • group work for first aid and CPR scenarios
Participants must attend and participate in 100% of the course.
 

Completion Requirements for all courses

 100% attendance, skills demonstration, and 75% minimum passing grade on written exam.
 
Completion of a course provides you with a 3-year certification (BLS provides a 1-year certification)

What are the differences between Standard and Emergency First Aid & CPR?

The Emergency First Aid & CPR Course covers the treatment for basic life threatening conditions, choking, heart attack, stroke, shock, as well as, CPR/AED and care for wounds.
 
In addition to the course content for Emergency First Aid, in the Standard First Aid & CPR, you also learn treatment for head and spinal cord injuries, sudden medical emergency ie (seizures/poisonings) and hyper and hypothermia.
  • Level A only covers 1 person CPR for adults.
  • Level C includes treatment for adults, children and infants.
  • BLS level includes the use of advanced medical equipment and is intended for Health Care Professionals.
